Is there a Google Search Console MCP server for Claude?
By Tom Claydon, Co-founder, Nudge · Updated 22 Oct 2026
Not from Google. Google publishes official MCP servers for Google Ads and Google Analytics, but we found none for Search Console. Several open-source servers connect Claude to the Search Console API instead, the most starred being mcp-gsc on GitHub. Most run on your own computer, read data by default and keep deleting tools switched off.
Disclosure: Nudge publishes this page. We make Nudge, a Google Ads MCP server, and have no tie to the tools below. Facts come from each project's own page, read on 22 October 2026. GitHub stars were counted the same day. We have not tested these servers.
What can a Search Console MCP server do?
Through the Search Console API, a server can read:
- Search performance: queries, pages, clicks, impressions, click-through rate and position.
- URL inspection: whether a page is indexed and why not.
- Sitemaps: which are submitted and read.
Some can also submit sitemaps or add and remove sites. Those are changes, so check what is switched on.
Which Search Console MCP servers are there?
The order is not a ranking.
| Server | Maker | Where it runs | Reads or changes | Note from the maker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| mcp-gsc | Amin Foroutan | You run it (Python) | Reads; sitemap submit available | "By default, add_site, delete_site, and delete_sitemap are disabled"; about 2,000 GitHub stars |
| search-console-mcp | Saurabh Sharma | You run it (npx) | Reads by default; writes need an explicit opt-in | Also covers Bing Webmaster, GA4 and AdSense |
| Suganthans-GSC-MCP | Suganthan Mohanadasan | You run it (npx) | Reads; optional indexing submissions | Setup wizard writes the Claude config for you |
| mcp-server-gsc | ahonn | You run it (Node) | Reads | Search Analytics up to 25,000 rows |
| Advanced GSC MCP | Linked from the mcp-gsc page | Hosted | Not stated | Paid plans; Search Console and GA4 |
What limits does Google set?
Google's Search Console API limits, from Google's own page:
- URL Inspection: 2,000 queries a day and 600 a minute, per site.
- Search Analytics: 1,200 queries a minute per site, and per user.
So a server cannot inspect every URL on a large site in one day.
How do you set one up with Claude?
- Create or pick a Google Cloud project and switch on the Search Console API.
- Create credentials: an OAuth desktop client, or a service account added as a user on your Search Console property.
- Add the server to Claude Desktop or Claude Code, following the project's README.
- Ask, for example: "Which pages lost the most clicks in the last 28 days compared with the 28 days before?"
How can a PPC agency use it?
Our suggestions:
- Find searches where a client ranks on page one organically but still pays for clicks, then test lowering those bids.
- Check new landing pages are indexed before sending ad traffic to them.
- Compare Search Console queries with the Google Ads search terms report to spot gaps.
